Erasmus

Students coming to study in our University under the Erasmus programme are offered courses both in English and French at the Department of Modern Languages; in the English Teacher Training College and the French Philology Institute respectively. They both offer courses in areas strictly connected with the in-depth study of a given language such as grammar, linguistics, history of the language, phonetics, and practical knowledge of the studied language, as well as courses dealing with cultural aspects of Great Britain, the United States of America, France, and Belgium such as civilization, geography, history, and literature. Students are also trained in the field of the methodology of teaching. This is done not only by participating in lectures, but also by observing lessons and, what is more, by teaching in schools. Incoming students are usually given the opportunity to undertake school practice, but it is essential to inform the International Relations Office about the practice plans in advance so that everything can be planned accordingly.  Also for those willing to study within a field other than English or French, it is necessary to give a notice on their choice of courses much in advance. That is why it is so important to fill in the Courses You Want to Attend section of the Student Application Form.
