This course, part of the M.A. in English Studies program at the Institute of Neophilology, Pedagogical University, Kraków, Poland, is a presentation of major writers and trends of the 19th- and 20th-centuries. It presents the state of English literature after the Romantic revolution, i.e. in the Victorian times, another revolution, that of modernism, and its postmodernist continuation, in a selection of literary and critical texts. The course also relies on extensive individual reading by the students.
